Central MarketCentral Market is a building of historic note in the bustling City centre of Lincoln. It is located on Sincil Street, with City Square running along the side of it. Across city square and running adjacent to Central market itself is the river that runs through the heart of Lincoln, across the bridge over the river lies the Waterside shopping centre full of the standard national fashion chain stores. Also spanning the river and directly opposite the City Square entrance to Central market is the large millenium statue of two people: are they diving, dancing or trapeze artists in flight? The market has a long history with some unusual events having taken place in it, such as wrestling - Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy are said to have performed within its environs! Central Market is owned and run by Lincoln City Council and is a registered market with the National Market Traders Federation. Now though Central Market is home to a number of independently owned businesses and retailers who offer a range of bespoke and traditonal services, the emphasis being on a strong level of personal service, helpful knowledge and good fair prices for quality merchandise. |
